Our board of directors works tirelessly to guide and refine the mission of Urban Street Angels and 8 West.

Michael Manley | Board Chairman

Michael Manley is the co-founder and chairman of the board for Urban Street Angels, Inc. He has served on a variety of local, alumni, and advsory boards,  including the Tom Homann LGBT Bar Association, California Western School of Law Board of Trustees, and the University of California, San Diego. Michael is an associate attorney at The Opus Law Firm, where he practices corporate and real estate law. Based in Encinitas, California, he handles transactions nationwide with an emphasis in commercial property acquisition and leasing, private placement financing, and outsourced corporate counsel.

Sarah Davis

Sarah is a CFP® professional with the Mt Woodson Group of Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500, faith-based financial services organization. She works extensively with the InFaith Community Foundation to help facilitate large legacy gifts and endowments for a number of other nonprofits. She has served on the board of the San Diego Coastal Rotary Club for many years, where she originally heard the story of Urban Street Angels and became a volunteer. She graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Marketing. She and her husband are both San Diego natives and enjoy traveling, spending time with their dogs, and volunteering in their local community. Sarah is also an avid Karaoke enthusiast and Asian food connoisseur, and can recite all the US Presidents in under 15 seconds flat!

Timothy Pestotnik

A Colorado native, Tim is a trial lawyer with Pestotnik LLP in San Diego, and has started and run several other nonprofits in San Diego and internationally.  Tim specializes in business litigation. His hobbies include restoring classic cars, skiing, travel, and paddle boarding.

Eric Lovett

Since founding Urban Street Angels in 2012, Eric Lovett has spearheaded the organization’s growth as one of Southern California’s foremost efforts to end youth homelessness, both in San Diego and beyond. He has nearly 25 years of leadership experience with non-profit organizations and charitable causes. As executive director of Urban Street Angels, he created the 8 West program in partnership with the County of San Diego HHSA/MHSA. The 8 West program is a social enterprise startup that provides transitional employment and supportive housing opportunities to San Diego’s transition age homeless youth. 8 West offers a hand up to youth in need with the goal of changing young lives for the better.

Jerry Troyer

A native of San Diego County, Jerry Troyer holds a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Emerson Theological Institute, and is the author of the acclaimed book, Coming Out to Ourselves: Admitting, Accepting and Embracing Who We Truly Are.  After 23 years in the technology market research industry, he served as senior minister of Joyful Living Spiritual Center for 11 years.  Jerry and his partner of 31 years live in La Mesa with their Golden Retriever, Roxie. They have one son and five grandchildren.

Brad Askren

A serial entrepreneur of over two decades, Brad is the founder of LifePrep meals. He has worked in the real estate and investment markets for the past 17 years. Brad created the Thrive with Confidence growth coaching program, which helps people rise to achieve their goals and build confidence in their daily lives. His drive to help others manifested in non-profit efforts that apply Brad’s proven techniques to help homeless adults improve their circumstances.
